OpenOffice Auto-Recover Works in v3.0.1

At last, the annoying auto-recover bug is fixed. Prior to v3.0.1 (since August 2008, at least) there’s been a bug where the Auto-Recover feature wouldn’t actually recover anything, but would just pull open the last truly saved version.

Now that bug has been fixed after many tears and outcries, thank goodness. Your $10k document is now safe.

Yeah, but where is it saved? While using the Find/Replace feature I accidently replaced a few hundred words that couldn’t be undone. I couldn’t find any auto-saved file at all.

First of all, understand that AutoRecovery that was never designed to protect users against their own mistakes.

To answer your question, though, in Linux it is stored here:
      .ooo3/user/backup/

      In Windows, it’s probably stored under [Windows Drive]:/Documents and Settings/[Username]/Application Data/ or [Windows Drive]:/Documents and Settings/[Username]/Local Settings/Application Data/ somewhere.
